My journey started at the beginning of my college career. I had just ended my season of 14 long years of competitive cheerleading and completely stopped being active. And I bet you can guess what happens next....the dreaded "freshman 15." Some say it's fake, but in my case it was completely true. I did not know one thing about fitness or nutrition, so my health took a toll for the first 2 years of college. I had no idea what to do.
I looked in the mirror and hated the image. I was too intimidated to go to the gym because I didn't know how to use the equipment. I didn't have a great diet either. I came across some YouTube videos and started working out in my teeny tiny bedroom. There, I defeated my "freshman 15" and had a better body than when I graduated high school. I learned so much about healthful foods and completely turned my life around. I was in the best shape of my life!
This lifestyle inspired me to declare my Nutritional Science major at Umass Lowell. I learned so many new things throughout my time in college and I'm thrilled to share that knowledge with you and help guide you to a healthier lifestyle.
After a year of working out in my room, I finally decided it was time to hit the gym, weights and all. Luckily I met a great guy and he started showing me around the gym. This "guy" turned into my boyfriend and has encouraged me to pursue my goals to become a CPT. My goals became a reality and I passed the NCCA Certified ACTION exam. I am also a group fitness instructor teaching classes at LifeTime Burlington.
Today, I am focusing on having my healthiest body and staying happy. I stay active and eat whole foods to fuel my body (and workouts!) My goal in life is to help people pursue a healthier lifestyle through exercise, nutrition, essential oils, and a healthy mindset- they are a great balance together. As people take on this goal, it is important to stay happy and listen to your body.
Let's reach your goals together and make this an experience you won't forget.
